Nike’s ACG Spring 2019 Collection

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Nike ACG’s Spring 2019 collection is inspired by the ACG range released in 1989. The brand returns to its ACG roots, revising color pallets, patterns and design. The collection looks back at the aesthetic and technical innovation of the Nike Sportswear division. The new range of retro gear is built to take on sunlight, rain and anything else the elements bring on. The stand out detail of the collection is the use of retro prints. The ’90s style prints feature manipulated petroglyph art, rock formations, plants and more. Bright colors like orange, yellow, pink, purple and green cover most of the pieces. The brand also brings back its ACG three-step layering system, which uses moisture-wicking Dri-FIT wool base layers, fleece insulation and GORE-TEX fabrics, which all combat the weather’s elements. Standout pieces include an oversized GORE-TEX jacket, which feature interior carrying straps, a super-soft fleece insulation jacket that’s decorated with a throwback print patch, and with introducing women’ styles, there’s the Storm guard women’s anorak. The bold collection is modern with a retro feel.Screen Shot 2019-02-07 at 12.16.50 PM Screen Shot 2019-02-07 at 12.17.14 PM Screen Shot 2019-02-07 at 12.17.37 PM

Nike Mowabb OG

In the early ’90s the ACG line from Nike was extremely popular, and the Air Mowabb quickly became an icon for its look as well as a rock climbing shoe. The outdoor shoe took inspiration from the Hurache runner. Well, it’s back this month in Trail End Brown. The nubuck upper is done in two tones of brown, orange and purple accents complete the famous ACG aesthetic. There’s been recent releases inspired by the Mowabb, such as the Hurache light, so its no surprise that the OG was, and will be, well received by sneaker heads everywhere.
