Lazy Oaf’s Latest Capsule Collection Brings Awareness To Mental Health.

Lazy Oaf is a London based brand known for its boldly quirky aesthetic. The brand’s latest offering highlights the UK’s Mental Health Awareness Week by teaming up with the campaign “Time to Change” for the “It’s OK to not be OK” capsule. It’s a limited edition unisex collection designed by five artists and illustrators from around the world. The collection features seven styles across T-shirts, a shirt, trousers and a tote bag that raise awareness, change attitudes and encourage speaking up about mental health through various forms of creative expression. The artists create pieces of work that they felt best translated “It’s OK to not be OK”. The artwork across the pieces range from humor and honesty to encourage conversations about mental health, body image, sexuality and social norms. Artists like Joey Yu, whose work illustrates the emotions magnified by daily routines, while Pete Sharp’s work is Sci-Fi influenced with a focus AI and human evolution, his art for the capsule is all about sharing what you’re feeling with others who are going through the same thing–hence the tagline “Stream of Consciousness”. While Spanish artist David Mendez Alonso focuses on bold colors and illustrations. Aussie artist Ellie King works with ceramics and textiles, her artwork for the capsule is a drawing inspired by a porcelain cat she found while in a deep eBay dive. The collection depicts the pressure artists can take on while creating and the mental health support needed. 100% of the profits from the capsule collection goes towards supporting Time To Change, the mental health anti-stigma campaign, led by charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 2.58.58 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 2.59.11 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 2.59.27 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 2.59.38 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 2.59.47 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 3.00.06 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 3.00.19 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 3.00.35 PM Screen Shot 2019-05-20 at 3.00.45 PM
