In 1917 Converse released an American basketball sneaker, the “Non-Skid”. In 1923 the sneaker was renamed after Charles “Chuck” Taylor. To celebrate 100 years since the sneaker’s release. Converse released a commemorative pack of Chuck Taylors. The blue and cream-off-white denim silhouettes feature a heart patchwork on the upper with gold eyelets. The rubberized midsole features the classic red stripe. The low top in a blue denim brings a playful, utilitarian design to a classic silhouette. Inspired by workwear fabrics, the sneaker is constructed out of sturdy denim with a breathable liner. The classic sneaker gets a modern revamp with stand out features like the whimsical red rubber heart detail on the foxing, giving it an extra dose of personality. The creamy high-top is also constructed out of denim with a breathable liner like the low top, and also boasts a rubber heart on the foxing, but the true stand out feature is the rubber heart overlay on the classic All Star ankle patch. These are currently available at rime’s Brooklyn location.
