Nike has developed yet again in the its process of winning/claiming shoes won throughout Twitter RSVP. First there was a hashtag tweeted from an official Nike account (21 mercer, Niketown etc.) with a specified hashtag and contest rules then late last year they have chosen to place the hashtag in a photoshopped background of the desired shoe. Why? Its pretty simple and can be explained in one word: BOTS. New age sneaker heads (and even old or those of the reseller persuasion) have utilized bot systems to automatically submit the direct messages thus resulting in the winning of the RSVP.
To combat these unfair winnings Nike has created a bot detection system that allows them to deny bot users when they arrive at the specified Nike location to purchase their pair. Even further they ban your name from future RSVP’s! Examples were made last weekend for the release of the KD 6 Floral and Air Jordan 1 SB where. I’m assuming this is where Nike says “Check mate”.
Animal lovers may very well have already contributed to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, but did they hook you up with a sick pair of kicks as a thank you gift? Probably not, but here’s a chance to support both your furry friends and your footwear habit as the ASPCA x Vans collection brings together animal photo prints with two of Off the Wall’s finest. The Vans Authentic gets a kitty-cat style while the Sk8-Hi Slim opts for puppies, and there’s a set of apparel and accessories as well. via Sneaker News
Join the Rime Crew this Saturday at the House of Vans for a chance to adopt some babies (animals are babies, at most the only kind I want) courtesy of the good folks at the ASPCA.

The Ewing 33 HI St. Patricks Day is available at the Brooklyn location only. Grab any last pairs while you can, these are definitely smooth for the spring/summer season.
Inspired by the cult classic of every single 90′s fan girl (myself included), rapper Iggy Azalea brings super sexy to Clueless. Anytime the movie is reenacted I throw my plaid miniskirt and bask in my childhood memories. Now that I think about it, my obsession with tartan is definitely due to Cher and Dionne’s iconic first day of school look. I mean its obvious why girls of the universe will forever love this movie and if you don’t you’re buggin’!
Stumbled across this list by Complex that speaks volumes to our soul of here at Rime. It’s called, 10 Things Sneaker Heads Should Stop Bitching About.
